About Amy Stielstra

Amy Stielstra

My family owned a print shop in Ferndale, Michigan. I grew up surrounded by inks of every color, paper of every texture and thickness, noisy presses and giant light tables. I saw an image reproduced hundreds of times within minutes on giant rhythmic printing presses. Magic! I practiced drawing and I studied how to draw what I see. Endless supplies of paper were at hand as I was encourage by my parents because they saw potential and how I loved making art. At the age of 10 my parents published my first coloring book. My fun drawings with thick lines were printed for many to enjoy. Magic! I fell in love with graphic design and found creativity came easily to me. I attended Central Michigan University and have a bachelors degree in the Art...
